This publication contains the OECD's biannual compendium of social indicators which seek to give a concise overview and assessment of social trends, policies and outcomes across OECD countries. It includes context indicators to illustrate national differences in social trends; and social status and response indicators categorised under four broad social policy areas of self-sufficiency, equity, health and social cohesion.These cover a wide range of social policy issues including demography, family characteristics, employment, working mothers, unemployment benefits, educational attainment, poverty and income inequality, social spending, life expectancy, health care expenditure, social isolation, teenage births and drug use.
