v. 1. One and twodimensional elliptic and maxwell problems
This self-contained reference describes finite element codes and automatic hp adaptivity strategies that are designed to deliver meshes with a minimum number of degrees of freedom in the full range of error level. The author examines standard single-dimension elliptic problems and a one-dimensional wave propagation problem. He includes a chapter on geometric modeling and mesh generation, and considers 2D elliptic problems and adaptivity. Reviewing Maxwell's equations, he offers a 3D axisymmetric antenna problem, as well as a complex-valued indefinite problem, and discusses 2D elasticity as an elliptic system example. A companion CD containing single and two-dimensional codes is included.
