A little girl named Rafara is abandoned in the forest by her two jealous sisters while they are gathering morelles. She is captured by a large monster who wants to fatten her up and eat her, but is saved by the magic stick, stone, and egg given to her by a small mouse. Rafara then returns home on the back of a large bird and grows up to marry the son of the king.
